Hachioji City, Tokyo
Koyasu Park

The park with the irrigation canal where Nagumo, Niikura, and Wako played during their childhood in the OP.
Looking north toward the canal (Yamada River) from Koyasu Park-dori Street, the view matches the scenery in the anime.

Asakawa Riverbank

This river embankment appears frequently throughout the series. It is the most common background after the CITY Shopping District and has been the setting for many dramatic scenes.
Specifically, the area around the intersection of the Asakawa River and the Hachiko Line railway bridge is believed to be the primary model for the anime.
Note that while the actual structure is a railway bridge, it is depicted as a road bridge in the anime.

Nishi-Hachioji Station (CITY Station)

A station on the JR Chuo Main Line located west of Hachioji Station. It is characterized by a large overpass spanning the tracks and platforms. It appears in Volume 13 of the manga as the central station of CITY.

Bicycle parking right next to the exit.

This location also appears in the early stages of the “CITY Race,” such as the scene where Ryota Adatara runs while carrying Miss Tanabe.

Super Alps (Daimachi Branch)

A supermarket located in Daimachi, Hachioji City. It is speculated to be the model for “Super Daibosatsu” which appears in Volume 1 of CITY.
Although the building’s shape has been slightly modified, the spatial relationship between the main building, the parking lot, and the sign is identical to the manga.

The ID photo booth featured in the same story is also modeled after the one on this supermarket’s premises, though the booth’s exact position seems to have changed slightly.

This is a recurring “holy site” seen from various angles, including the episode where Tatewaku tries to catch a Tsuchinoko and during the CITY Race.

Sato Shoten (Tomuryugyu Shoten)

The model for Tomuryugyu Shoten. While the number of floors in the building differs, the fact that there is a mahjong parlor on the upper floor matches the manga.

HK Building

The building used as the background for Chapter 15 of the manga, “Delivery Attack.”

Hachioji Jissen Junior & Senior High School

The school thought to be the model for CITY Minami Junior & Senior High School.
The topography around the school matches the map inserted in the blank pages of the tankobon (manga volumes). The shape of the school building itself appears to be an original design.

Hachioji Owada Postal Housing (Demolished)

The apartment complex where Eri Amakasari lives.
It has since been demolished, and “Super Alps Owada Branch” now stands on the site.

The slope that appeared in Chapter 141, “The CITY where only Tatewaku and Riko Izumi are missing.”

Katakuri Bridge

Believed to be the model for the bridge Wako Izumi was crossing in CITY Vol. 3 Chapter 28 and Episode 3 of the anime.

Owada Bridge

The bridge depicted as the finish line of the CITY Race. The monuments on the railings, the support beams for the signs, and the position and shape of the streetlights all match.
